Oct 28 2012 Beach Covers Road. Here, the beach has completely covered all four lanes of A1A. Many vehicles could not leave or enter without becoming stuck in the sand. Notice the top of the wall on the left. Flooding and beach erosion along A1A in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This photo may be used freely, with a link back to Design215.com. Nov 29 2012 Concrete Barriers at Dusk. More concrete road barriers have been placed at the edge of what was once part of Fort Lauderdale beach. In the foreground is a section of the sidewalk and retaining wall that used to separate the beach from parking spaces and A1A. Hopefully the additional barriers will prevent further erosion of the road itself. This photo may be used freely, with a link back to Design215.com. Please contact Robert for larger versions.
